On January 12, 2008, Pat Dreibelbis, Director of Program Services and Dana Schwertfeger, Director of Member Services from the national headquarters of the CMTA visited the New York City support group and gave presentations regarding the accomplishments of the organization, one of which was the production of The Patient’s Guide to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disorders. In addition to the book version of the guide, the organization also produced a CD which contains not only the guide, but a presentation by Dr. Steven Scherer of the University of Pennsylvania which is intended to provide an overview of the disorder to physicians. The final presentation on the CD is one by Dana Schwertfeger which is intended to educate patients and their families on the symptoms of CMT, the genetics of the disorder, treatment options and the medications which are helpful, as well as those which are harmful.

You can view that presentation in PDF Click Here
